In collaboration with renowned architect Sir David Adjaye, who provided the overall form, I led the the design development including material research and UI/UX development.
We found a particular concrete resin that exhibits excellent rigidity and dampening. This enabled the use of powerful drivers without introducing distortion through the cabinet. A big challenge was devising how to embed magnets in to the front baffle.
The MA770 was featured at the MOMA store in New York and received high praise from design and tech press (1,2,3).
